Ibilè

Multicultural, multi-instrumental magic of West Africa, drawn from sources as diverse as the Limba, Temne, Fula, Mende and Creole (from Sierra Leone), the Fanti, Dagarti, Ashanti and Ga (of Ghana), the Susso, Wollof, Bambara and Mandinka (from Gambia, Guinea, Mali and the Senegal) the Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, Edo and Fulani (of Nigeria), as well as others too numerous to mention here... Ibílè work their way through a rainbow of moods and textures, taking the listener’s imagination across the beaches, forests, mountains, rivers, Savannah and desert lands of West Africa and possibly, the listener’s own inner landscape as well… Ibílè is led by:

Adésosè Wallace (Nigeria, Leader/Founder): Djèmbé, Bata drums, shèkèrè, agídígbò, gán-gàn, flutes, wíyá, gòjé, jun-jun and lead vocals

Ládì Agángá-Williams (Nigeria): Acoustic, electric 6-string and bass guitars, assorted percussion, backing vocals

Seikobaa Susso (Gambia): Kora, lead and backing vocals, assorted percussion
