1st night - 3rd Nov:

Echo Rimbaud!

7:30pm: welcome & brief introduction followed by Herve Constant reading his selected short poem by Rimbaud. These readings will be in French.

7:40pm: Recent video works inspired by Rimbaud from Italy selected by Manuela Corti.

Manuela Corti: born in Sienna, Italy. After obtaining her doctoral degree in Philosophy with a specialization in Epistemology at the University of Bologna, she spent four years as an assistant with Protessor A Pasquinelli, Chair of Philosophy of Science at the same University, gaining experience in research and teaching. Since 1990, Cori has devoted herself exclusively to the visual arts mostly in the digital field.

An interpretation of Rimbaud's poem Voyelles. "This work does not wish to be biographical, its aim is to create a sonorous carpet of time, sound, imagery and colour a fusion o the senses as a TrouTe to one of the greatest poets" - Marco Zoi.

As Rimbaud wrote "Crisis come and go, just like the seasons. But they hurt each time. Sometimes I wonder whether it's possible to avoid at least some of the grieving and burning"

Carla Della Beffa. Carla della Beffa began making videos in 2000. Three of her video works were selected for the Polyphonix festival, Paris 2002. Une Saison en Enfer is her eleventh video.

Symbolic objects pertaining to Rimbaud are installed in a labyrinthine system of caverns.

"If, as Rimbaud asked, love must be reinvented, this can only be done by Poets, to whom it already owes its birth. And the new forms it will take can only be described - filmed - by poets, notably poets of the screen. can one still make unheard sounds and unseen images today?

That was the wager of this film" Maurice Lemaitre.

Right hand man to Lettrist leader Isiodre IsoU, Lemaitre was one ot the most prolitic ot the group, and since his first film in 1951 (Le film est deia commence? he has produced over 100 films. He is still producing films today.
