THE ORCHESTRA with THE COLLABORATORS

A showcase event at 291 Gallery. Mixing dance beats, pop, jazz, world, contemporary music and samples with the richness and depth of live classical instruments, the 26 musicians of THE ORCHESTRA are working with eight different collaborators.

These include:

Travis and Manic Street Preachers arranger SALLY HERBERT with JIMMY SOMERVILLE + JERRY BURNS on vocals; Composer, arranger and Divine Comedy member JOBY TALBOT; Irish crossover/world beats band SINE; Film/Contemporary Composer JOCELYN POOK who's work includes Kubrick's 'Eyes Wide Shut'; Work from musician/composer/professional dilettante ASHLEY SLATER; Music from BOB BROADLEY with visuals from JOSH LEVINSKY and new work from SPACER and ANDREW SKEET; bittersweet beautifully crafted songs from IDIOT SON.

THE ORCHESTRA is a new group of voung professional musicians who use their classical training in any field but traditional orchestral performance. It is not about re-ligging classical works with beats or stringing up rock epics, but about bringing together different artists and creating something new.
