ZATORSKI & ZATORSKI

Thursday 15th - Saturday 18th November

Go On My Son is a site-specific sound installation for the Main Gallery of 291 in which the parallels of football, tribalism and religion are explored. Using the construct of a football game, ZATORSKI & ZATORSKI have interlaced spoken extracts from The Gospels with the roars and cheers of a football crowd and the sounds of the match. Cast into semi-darkness it is lit only by the glow of monumental projected text.

Alongside Go on my Son, 291 will be screening Witness, a video installation in the North Wing (bar) area. The subject of the video installation Witness is a real man. Ted is blind. With impeccable regularity, he offers a religious magazine to passers-by, at the same time in the same place each week.

On first inspection Witness appears to be the documentation of a performance. ZATORSKI & ZATORSKI have observed his "performance" over a substantial period, setting up a camera across the road in front of him and allowing the scene to develop uninterrupted. His stillness across the pavement and through the traffic punctuates the fascinating, often amusing snippets and intriguing coincidences of this contemporary London Street scene.
