MARTIN PICKLES - THE TIME-TRAVELLERS OF 1908 (35mm, 9 Minutes)

A home-movie about London in the 21st Century made by two men from 1908. It was shot entirely on Edwardian hand-cranked 35mm cameras and much of the sound recorded on an Edison wax-cylinder phonograph.

What really happens at a film premiere? 2EYESopen, the work of video artist Mateo Willis, explores the self-adaptive element of human society, in a constant search for equilibrium The crowd is drawn to the star, whilst simultaneously a person deemed inappropriate is reflected.

MIGUEL ANGEL ALFORCEA - JACKIE BROWN ESCAPES TO THE SUN (MiniDV, 5 minutes)

This film brings to the public, and especially to Jackie Brown fans, the opportunity to recall this character and enjoy seeing Jackie escaping to a sunny place. This sequel to one of Tarantino's classic films is a visual narrative of contrasting black and white and colour scenes, a continuous variety of rich scenarios, sexy and mysterious dialogue, plus the atmospheric music throughout the film.

PHILIP SANDERSON - A ROCCO DIN (MiniDV, 2 minutes)

Anagrammatical image sequentially. Identical twins separated at birth. sound and vision were rudely torn apart at the moment of the mechanical reproduction. Edison had wished it otherwise -"All movements of a person photographed will be exactly coincident with any sound made by him". However, technical difficulties ensured the twins' separation. Though reunited in the 20th century, terrible damage had been done. Film, though never really silent, saw itself as a primarily visual medium, whilst the ventriloquist phonograph that could speak without moving its lips, accustomed people to sound without vision.

AUDHILD DAHLSTROM - Beiträchad in Mytling FinnagOs Op (MiniDV, 34 mins)

A world of women on the edge. A film dealing with cultural identity and a tragic event in the city where the main character lives. It also expresses the banal events of our everyday life in contrast to the serious and tragic events that may occur during life. The film is made using invented language and there are no subtitles. The sound of the voice becomes a language of its own.

IDO FLUK - POLAR BEARS (Mini DV, 10 Minutes)

Polar Bears' is a video work completed in May 2005. Part figurative and part abstract, part environmental-tale and part personal-essay, this work examines two seemingly different stories: the first about an oil company engineer who tells me about designing a big drill site in Siberia, the second about a young man's desire for fame in the age of celebrity kings and queens. What common grounds do the white bears of Siberia have with the young New York. wannabe-famous artist? None, it seems. And yet both still co-exist within the same palette of experiences that define a modern western existence:

JO NIGOGHOSSIAN - ROUGH HEWN (Super 8mm, 2 minutes)

Rough-Hewn tries to web the surface quality of film with the surface of country landscape and children at a car boot sale, attempting to extract simple, organic social aspects of contemporary lite. "My work focuses on free, strong and brutish-looking people and children from an inferred-marginalised socio-economic strata"

MARK AERIAL WALLER - REVERSION OF THE BEAST FOLK (UK, 2003, 12 mins, video)

Reversion of the Beast Folk opens with the view from the passenger seat of a Lamborghini Countach, which screeches through traffic on an endless highway, passing cars inside and out. Cutting to a barren landscape, two figures are seen to emerge from behind a rock and meander through the depth of field. Here Waller, who approaches his work through the reading of classic literature, employs H.G. Wells' endlessly perverted The Island of Doctor Moreau as his field of agitation. Reversion of the Beast Folk concerns the conquest of new territory, pre-judgement and swift punishment, and the laying down of a New Law. For the film's soundtrack Waller employs Beethoven's Emperor in collision with recordings of the camera's own mechanism. The work climaxes with Brazilian Umbanda, music for religious ritual dedicated to the goddess of sex, Pomba Gira.
