Midnight Transfer - Roger Subirats

'Midnight Transfer happens in the mind-space reflecting on the routine of our transit in the physical space. It is a constant progress through captured moments of reality, through fragments of routine that catch our attention and provoke imagination.

Sound acts as a conveyor belt transporting the viewer through scenes. It creates the stage, rhythm and tension for the performance of visuals. Visuals transform themselves and evolve almost with unnoticed transitions, with a consistent blending of graphic compositions.

Untitled (2000) - Luz Maria Sanchez

"This video piece is normally installed within a gallery context and runs continuously.

The Chinese Minute - Contact: Jose De Avila

The 'El Chino' project is a video 'magazine' in which the only rule is that videos are one minute and is an a-curatorial bonding and editing project. Each member of 'el chino' editions puts in their video without knowing what the other participants made, so the discourse of the whole thing is something made by the spectator.

'El Chino' editions is a group of twelve mexican people, composed of artists, architects, film makers and a lawyer. A monthly magazine is produced, a video edition is produced every two months and a cd every three months in which every member puts in a song that they like.

The 'the chinese editions' project focuses on developing and working with the same idea and concept in different media. Following the same strategies such as randomness, purposeless, meaningless, emphasizing in lack of authorship.

Burn Out - Nicky Magliulo

I have aimed to explore the vulnerability of 'moment' and the isolation of the physical body. By putting myself physically in the work, I have intended to examine the theme of exposure, where I become the experiment. Through internally experiencing terror, panic and dying feelings I have used the camera as a witness and computer as a tool in manipulating the imagery and mirroring the feeling, in order to create a sense of internal and external reality of physical form.

Duologue - Esther Johnson

Initially inspired by Ingmar Bergman's 'The Silence' (1963). Bergman's film centre's on the complex relationship of two sisters. The characters look like twins, related by blood and living their lives side by side, but have no interaction. The keys are a metaphor for the resistant nature of troubled relationships, never being used to unlock complexities and instead stubbornly swing in space. In Dulogue the characters walk endlessness through corridors but never get anywhere. They walk the same track yet they walk in different directions, avoiding any kind of humanistic dialogue.

Eden - Abigail Renolds

Video loop, originally shown in Brockwell hall, Brockwell park, Brixton, Summer 2000.

A-Movie-A-Night - Andy Harper

"All the video pieces on this tape were made at Braziers International Artists' Workshop. My main project, 'A-Movie-A-Night', involved me in shooting, editing and screening a short video piece every day. The videos were screened in the music room in the main house at the same time every evening after dinner for one week (monday to friday). There was no obligation to attend but everyone was welcome.

'Even my thoughts sometimes appear to my consciousness' - Tamara Tyrer

The piece examines the idea of one part of the self watching the other, the notion of watching oneself. The piece evokes the implications of this notion of a double, suggesting the idea of division of the self ,of 'self- observation' and self conscience'. I was interested in examining the emotional implications of this act, creating a a performance to re-enact these inner sentiments. The piece explores our experience of 'seeing' ourselves and the experience of otherness of seeing oneself, for example, in the mirror and in our imagination.

Commodity - Jon Panther (foyer installation)

As technologies become more identified with biological models, or become more "anthropomorphous" so the human body becomes "de-anthropomorphous" - we use our bodies as devices, tools or commodities. This is a generative, stochastic work - the programming using models found in biology. The programme creates the visual and sonic content over time. Even though it is random in iitscomposition there is none-the-less, a certain amount of probability in iitsprogression.
