Light Reading
20th March 2002
presented by Karen Mirza, Simon Payne and Brad Butler
What is documentary and what is Artist Film and Video. Where are they now and how do they inform the film form? Light reading is a forum for these sorts of discussions aimed at filmmakers and discussed through their work. We believe there is much to be gained through the examination of the recording eye and the interpreting eye and in prolonging the historical relationship between documentary and the avant garde.
On the 20th March with a screening of work by established and emerging artists to include Lis Rhodes, Greg Pope, Simon Payne, Steve Farrer, Rob Gawthorpe, Ron Haseldon and Joanna Millett.
Also 3rd April: an evening curated by William English. William will be showing his own films. Full programme notes coming soon.
