Charlotte Mew is a multi-media artist and visual poet who specialises in both the spoken and written word. Her writing manifests itself in contemporary culture and refers to underlying concerns of identity, sexuality and the complexities of language.

@291 she has hand letter-punched and hung sixty-four mirror stainless plates, each containing a sentence or phrase inspired by daily life and prompted by overheard conversations, on the bus, in the street or on the underground. These sentences are also to be found in a series of book works and on the compact disc 'all my energy has gone into the pudding.’

From the conception of her practice at Kingston University and during her time spent at the Jan Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, Charlotte Mew has sought to cross language barriers and create new narratives by reinterpreting found dialogue and by highlighting a hidden agenda.
