London Biennale 2000

16th / 17th / 18th August

Three consecutive evenings of international contemporary art, live performance, installation works, video, film and music from over 100 artists from all over the world.

David Medalla describes the London Biennale as a do-it-yourself, participatory event open to any artist anywhere in the world. There have been hundreds of events and exhibitions during its course and these three nights at 291 provide a chance to see new and exciting work by a multitude of international artists. The Curators of the three evenings are all artists in their own right: Fritz Stolberg is an artist and filmmaker from Germany. Bill Allen is a painter and installation artist originally from Sydney, Australia. Toby Penrose is a visual artist and film maker from the U.K. Cristiana de Melo is from Brazil and is presently working on interactive video installations.
