Your Own

Your Own is a dance-visual promenade performance where audience and performers share the same space.The organic melting of shadows, video projections and performers create the environment and the feelings. Are the audience watching dreamers? Are they dreaming themselves? Have they dreamt it before?

Have you ever fought your dreams?

Have you ever fought daily life?

Have you ever fought yourself?

Have you ever fought your alarm clock in the mornings every seven minutes, dropping back into deep dreams until you are really late? Within a sequence of eight dreams we will go through the struggle of human beings creating their own shelter in order to protect themselves from daily life; fighting until they find out there is nothing to fight against, realizing their struggle is within, and finally tryin to break it through.

Performer/Choreographer: Milla Kauhanen trained in London under Ikky Maas and went on to Cunniningham Studios in New York. She has worked with choreographers like Yolande Snaith, Darshan Singh Buller, Lea Anderson, Ian Spink, Margaret Morris, Gayner Coward, David Waring and David Massingham. More recently teaching freelance (Millenium Dance 2000, London Studio Centre) and choreographing full evening contemporary ballets and physical theatre performances.

Performer/Choreographer: Carlotta Persson started as an actress in Stockholm, also working on physical and improvisation performances. Her experience in Sweden includes theatre, television, commercials and film productions. In London, she performed in The Millenium Dome.

Performer/Choreographer: Elena Ripoll graduated in Performance in Millenium Dance 2000, London. She danced in British productions such as ‘A Whole New World’, ‘Lives the Dream’ and ‘Virgin Territory’. She also performed in ‘Nits d’Estiu’ on a Spanish tour.

Artistic Director: Rosa Pascual trained as a Theatre Designer at Central Saint Martin’s. In London, she has designed at The Royal National Theatre Studio, English Touring Theatre, Hackney Empire and also in fringe theatre. In Barcelona, she collaborated with Comediants in ‘A King’s Dream’, National Theatre Awards & ‘The Magic Flute’. Her direction work includes: contemporary dance ‘Generation Bar’ & physical theatre ‘Many Ones’.

Set Designer: Tamasin Rhymes designs include, for the Steam Industry: ‘Cells’, ‘Crime and Punishment’, ‘Example’ and ‘On Line and Paranoid in the Sentimental City’ (Finborough), ‘Bitchkiss’ (BAC) and environment deisgns: ‘Canada’, ‘Discipline’ and ‘London’ seasons; for Echo Reverb: ‘Three Counts in a Bar’ (BAC); for the Wycombe Swan: ‘Oliver!’. As a member of Wireframe, Tam has collaborated on ‘Charles Berlitz’s Passport to Spanish (1972)’, ‘At Home’, ‘The Lusiads’ and ‘North Hill Relay’.

Sound Designer: Adam Keeper creates sound for performance under the moniker Halon 1301 ‘Halon 1211’. He is also one of the four members of Wireframe: ‘At Home’ and ‘North Hill Relay’. He has also worked extensively as a Theatre Sound Designer for numerous companies including The Steam Industry of whom he is as associate member.

Lighting Designer: Ben Pacey previous lighting design work includes: ‘Klub’ and ‘Fresh’ for Frantic Assembly (national and international tour); ‘Mary Stuart’ for Small Planet (Bristol New Vic and tour); ‘La Boheme’, ‘Tosca’, ‘Carmen’ and ‘The Barber of Seville’ for European Chamber Opera; ‘On Line and Paranoid in Sentimental City’ and ‘Storeys’ for the Steam Industry; ‘Halon 1211’ for Halon 1301; ‘At Home’ and ‘North Hill Relay’ for Wireframe.

Video Artist: Joan Vallverdú graduated in Media Studies at Ramón Llull University in Barcelona. He works as an editor for numerous commercials, TV productions and feature films. He also directs music videos.
