‚FLU-X‘ is a dance/installation piece exploring fluctuating states of consciousness and the space and time perception within.

The site-specific installation is inspired by genetic science; the dancers, through their movement and interaction with elasticated materials create an environment reminiscent of physiological structure. Enhanced through light, sound and video projections, the audience will experience itself as part of this organism and its thrilling transformation of space.

The 291 Gallery, a former church in Hackney, is a fitting location for a piece exploring the points at which science, religion and art can meet.

‚FLU-X‘ is based on a scenographical concept by the Swiss born visual artist and scenographer Johanna Altherr, which resulted in the collaboration with the well-established, London-based choreographer Claire Russ and three outstanding dance artists. The performing team includes the award-winning, ex-principal Royal-Balletdancer and choreographer Matthew Hawkins, the Turkesistan born dancer Yalckun Abdurehim(taught by Merce Cunningham and dancer in R. Nurejev’s “Romeo & Juliet") and Swiss born dance-acrobat and choreograher Andrea Herdeg.
